Start with the symptom.
Check one subsystem at a time, and record what changed.
The maintenance Wi-Fi network is missing
Briefly press the dedicated maintenance button again; an idle session expires. Check stable power and confirm you are using GPIO10’s button, not the board reset button.
Connected to Wi-Fi, but the page will not open
Stay on Privacy-XXXX even if your phone reports no internet. Enter http://192.168.4.1 explicitly. Check whether the phone switched to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network.
GPS has no fix or keeps dropping
Test outdoors with a clear sky view. Check the antenna connection, receiver power and board-specific SDA/SCL wiring. Inspect the reported fix and accuracy before diagnosing geofences.
The database is missing or invalid
Keep the original card backup. Confirm the compatible geofences.bin is at the card root and inspect SD initialization and validation messages. Do not rename a partial download into place.
The controller has Wi-Fi, but update checks fail
Verify internet access, DNS and the HTTPS endpoint. A cold boot needs internet time synchronization for certificate validation. Check logs for the failure stage; do not disable TLS certificate checks.
A download verified but has not switched
In the documented prototype, activation waits for Maintenance Mode to be open and the relay to be off. Reopen maintenance and review the status.
The relay does not follow the indicator
Check the output driver’s supply, polarity and interface. A Qwiic/I²C relay will not respond to the current GPIO-only implementation without appropriate firmware.
The trigger total is not a total of blocked reads
The total counts relay activations, not cameras or successful optical blocking. It starts when counter-enabled firmware is installed and can reset if flash/NVS is erased.
Where are the forum and kits?
They are future plans. No kit ordering, account registration or forum is active in this version.
Before sharing a log
Note the firmware version, board/GPS model, database version and whether the issue occurs on the bench or in the vehicle. Remove Wi-Fi names/passwords and personal identifiers from logs. No support-upload form is enabled on this site.
