BLOCK FLOCK / AN INDEPENDENT DIY PROJECT
Your journey.
Your privacy.
A small in-vehicle device compares your GPS location with an on-device database of plate-reading surveillance camera locations.
When the device detects that you are in range of a camera, it automatically energizes a 6" x 12" Smart Film panel, switching it from clear to opaque (hypothetically you could experiment with positioning the film on top of your license plate - we are not advocating or recommending that you do this, or the likely illegality of such "experimentation". You do you.) A combination color LED lighted button is non-destructively clamped to your air vent, dashboard, or console. It communicates the status of the device and permits simple override actions. Within range of NON-TOLL, NON-EXPRESS surveillance cameras, your license plate will be briefly obscured.

FROM LOCATION TO ACTION
How the prototype works
- 01 / LOCATE
Find your position
A GNSS receiver supplies the controller with a position and accuracy estimate.
- 02 / COMPARE
Check the local map
The ESP32 compares usable fixes with camera geofences stored on the SD card.
- 03 / RESPOND
Control an output
A confirmed geofence match activates the relay signal and external indicator.
BUILD AT YOUR OWN PACE
A small controller.
A documented project.
Start with the parts, follow the bench checks, then learn the maintenance interface. The guides identify what is established and what still needs validation.
