ALPR PRIVACY / AN INDEPENDENT DIY PROJECT

Your journey.
Your privacy.

A GPS-aware ESP32 controller that compares your location with a local database of reported plate-reader cameras.

The prototype uses that match to control a relay and indicator. The proposed privacy panel switches from clear to opaque near a mapped camera.

Privacy begins with understanding what is being collected.
THE IDEA IN 30 SECONDS

Know where the cameras are.
Make the decision on the device.

GPS supplies a position. A database on the microSD card supplies mapped camera locations. The controller evaluates the match locally; internet access is used for update checks.

FROM LOCATION TO ACTION

How the prototype works

Read the operator guide →
  1. 01 / LOCATE

    Find your position

A GNSS receiver supplies the controller with a position and accuracy estimate.

  2. 02 / COMPARE

    Check the local map

The ESP32 compares usable fixes with camera geofences stored on the SD card.

  3. 03 / RESPOND

    Control an output

A confirmed geofence match activates the relay signal and external indicator.

BUILD AT YOUR OWN PACE

A small controller.
A documented project.

Start with the parts, follow the bench checks, then learn the maintenance interface. The guides identify what is established and what still needs validation.
